The 6^th Workshop of BK-UNDP Green Banking joint project was held here in Tehran, Iran on May 3, 2014. Welcoming the participants, Dr. Arghavan Farzin Mo’tamed officially opened the 6^th workshop on Green Banking

as the first BK-UNDP joint event in the new Persian year.

Following the opening of the workshop and elaborating on the approaches and perspectives which are going to be adopted in the next stage of the project, Dr. Farzin, UNDP Head of Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development Group, highlighted the reviewing and updating the existing credit instructions and circulars of the bank, in collaboration with other related organizations, based on the concepts and principles of Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development.

 

 

 

Dr. Shajari, the project advisor, was the next speaker who briefly reviewed the findings and activities of the previous five workshops. He then outlined the activities for the workshops to be held and the methodology to formulate circulars and instructions based on social, economic and environmental indicators. Explaining the economic indicators, Dr. Shajari asked the participants groups to discuss indicators and think of the ways to include them in the bank's credit instructions.

 

For the next part of the workshop, the groups were assigned to present those indicators which can be used in credit instructions for the proper agriculture sub-sectors of the pilot provinces. The workshop was concluded by reviewing the groups activities.
